Gwenda C. Jonas, MD
Gwenda C. Jonas, MD, FACOG is a board-certified OB/GYN who has practiced with Kalispell OB/GYN since 2001.
Prior to moving to Flathead Valley, she was in private practice for four years in Phoenix, AZ, and was an Associate Clinical Professor for the University of Arizona School of Medicine.
Dr. Jonas received her undergraduate degree from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and her medical degree from the University of Alabama.
She completed her residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Board-certified yearly through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Dr. Jonas specializes in gynecology and early obstetrics. She has a special interest in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, as well as treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence and infertility. She believes that patients should have the option of in-office procedures when possible and has introduced in-office hysteroscopic procedures and endometrial ablation to the Flathead Valley.
She has served as Chief of Staff of Kalispell Regional Medical Center, as a Kalispell Regional healthcare board member, and as board chair. She has served on numerous committees at Logan Health, including Medical Ethics, Mass Casualty and most recently as Logan Health Section Chair of Gynecology.
Her passion is providing a caring, supportive and pain-free environment for women to obtain the care they need and deserve.
Dr. Jonas and her husband, Dr. Ken Jonas, are delighted to call Kalispell their home. They enjoy rafting, fishing, skiing, and kayaking.

Austin Rusher
APRN-WHNP-BC
Austin Rusher, WHNP joined Kalispell OB/GYN in December of 2020, returning to Montana to be closer to family. She received her nursing degree from Montana State University in 2012 and her degree as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky in 2020.
Austin worked for 5 years in women's health, mostly in Labor & Delivery, taking care of mothers and their families during the antepartum, labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. Striving to provide respectful and empowering care, Austin is passionate about all aspects of women’s health and creating a partnership to meet healthcare needs. Her training includes wellness exams, family planning, STD screening and treatment, IUD and Nexplanon insertion and removal, menopausal management, and, of course, obstetrics. She strives to provide evidence-based, individualized, and inclusive care.
Austin was raised in Helena and grew up on a small ranch. She admires and respects the rural communities of the Flathead Valley and looks forward to developing long-lasting patient relationships. She and her husband, Reicher, have two young children. They enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, and all of the outdoor recreational opportunities offered by the Flathead Valley and the great state of Montana.
Shawn Shanahan
APRN-WHNP-BC, RDMS, WHE, CGCP, NCMP
Shawn Shanahan, APRN-WHNP-BC joined Kalispell OB/GYN in March 2021, moving to Montana in 1986 to raise her two sons and to enjoy the great outdoors with her spouse. She earned her nursing degree from the University of Utah in 1986. She became a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner through Harbor-UCLA in 1987 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing through the University of Nevada – Reno in 1993.
Shawn received the Award for Innovations in Health at the University of Utah and served many years in various board roles of professional organizations such as the Montana Nurses Association and the Montana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Association and as a Montana State Family Planning Medical Advisory Committee member. She taught nursing at Northern Nevada Community College and Salish Kootenai College.
Shawn has 10 years of public health experience in addition to over 25 years of private practice. She is also a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), a Certified Wholistic Health Educator (WHE), a Certified Geriatric Care Professional (CGCP) and North American Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner (NCMP). Shawn enjoys providing a wide range of women’s care, including contraception, fertility care, menopause management, prenatal and postnatal care, sexually transmitted disease management, bladder care, cancer screening, and management of sexual concerns.
Shawn seeks to empower patients and their families through education to pursue informed choices that promote well-being.
Kaycee McIntosh, PA-C
Kaycee McIntosh is a Physician Assistant at Kalispell OB/GYN and fifth-generation Montanan on both sides of her family. She was born in Missoula and raised in the Flathead Valley when at the age of 4, she and her family moved to Whitefish so her father could work on the railroad. Kaycee went to college in Bozeman where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science/Health and Human Development from MSU. She then went to graduate school at Rocky Mountain College in Billings where she received her Master of Physician Assistant.
She worked in Urgent Care for Logan Health for ten years, where she gained valuable experience in many areas of medicine before transitioning into women's health at Kalispell OB/GYN at the end of 2021. Kaycee enjoys the entire process of medicine and especially likes patient interaction and medical aesthetics.
Kaycee, along with her husband Toby, an engineer from Vermont, loves raising their three young boys together in Whitefish. Kaycee enjoys spending time outside skiing, biking, playing fetch with their dog, and being with her family. She also loves art, being creative, and enjoys thinking outside of the box.
Marci Mangold,PA-C
Physician Assistant, Marci Mangold has over 20 years of experience and joined Kalispell OBGYN in October 2022. Marci was a Wyoming native until she moved to Montana in 1995 to attend the University of Montana and she hasn't left since! She graduated with honors in 1999, completing the pre-medicine track and receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. Marci attended graduate school at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania where she received her Master of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant studies in 2002.
She returned to Missoula and worked in general, cardiothoracic and trauma surgery managing complicated patients and gained valuable experience. Seeking a more rural lifestyle, she moved to the Mission Valley in 2004 and transitioned to primary care and emergency medicine, solidifying her knowledge over several years. Starting a family brought her to the Flathead Valley in 2011 where she worked part-time in urgent care for Logan Health. Once her children were school-aged, Marci could dedicate more time to building meaningful patient relationships and she transitioned back to family medicine in 2019 at Logan Health. She was drawn to Kalispell OBGYN by her desire to provide comprehensive care to women while focusing on the unique gynecologic and reproductive care women require. Having battled with infertility herself, Marci hopes to support patients through this process. She also enjoys providing a more comprehensive range of care including contraception, STD screening and treatment, menopause management, cancer screening and wellness exams including management of chronic medical conditions.
Marci enjoys spending time with her four kids and all that mothering requires. She is active in her local church and the Tres Dias community. Marci is also a Certified Christian Mental Health Coach and enjoys counseling others through difficult seasons of life. She loves to travel and hopes to do more missionary work. Marci feels renewed after spending time outdoors and enjoys numerous recreational activities.
Hayley Beattie - Office Manager and Client Services
Hayley Beattie (she/her) joined Kalispell OB/GYN in 2015, as a Front Desk Coordinator. She then worked at FVCC honing her skills in Human Resources before returning to Kalispell OB/GYN as the Office Manager in 2020. Hayley has her Bachelor’s degree from Washington State University. Go Cougs!
Hayley loves helping people and enjoys working with the passionate care team at Kalispell OB/GYN. She strives to make this the best Women’s Clinic in Flathead Valley. When Hayley isn’t the boss lady at the office, you can find her teaching her two daughters to be good humans. Her motto is to just be kind – the world needs more of it.
Hayley, her husband and her daughters love camping, fishing and being on the water in the summer. In the winter, you can find her at home enjoying cozy snuggles, hot cocoa, puzzles and family game nights.
